“PRIDDE”
Paediatric Radiological Image Database-guided Diagnosis Excellence

Service

Project management

Objective

Realization of an image database-guided diagnosis support system that will provide assistance for improved clinical diagnosis and treatment of paediatric brain and upper abdomen cancers, paediatric clinical training/teaching and paediatric clinical research and clinical studies.

Output

“PRIDDE”: a Specific Targeted Research Project (STREP) coordinated by Lynkeus and developed together with SIEMENS MEDICAL SOLUTIONS (SMS) as technological partner. PRIDDE was presented to the EU’s Sixth Framework Programme, IST’s first call.

The project was developed together with some of the main centres of paediatric excellence and universities across Europe:

I.R.C.C.S. Giannina Gaslini, Genoa;
Erasme Hospital, Brussels;
Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, London;
La Sapienza University, Rome;
University Hospital of Graz;
DISI, Genoa University;
INRIA, Sophia Antipolis;
Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh;
Albert Ludwigs Universitat, Freiburg;
Fondazione Gerolamo Gaslini, Genoa.

A Lynkeus original idea, PRIDDE will leverage the capabilities of quality-controlled diagnostic image databases and computational image analysis methods to:

a)    support physicians in paediatric diagnosis and therapy and
b)    diffuse clinical excellence across Europe by setting new standards in Computer Aided Diagnosis (CAD).
